Have You Heard?

Beginning in December of 2015, OSHA-compliant distributors are now required to report Hazardous Chemicals via a uniform Safety Data Sheet (SDS) rather than the previously required Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

This single format (featuring 16 sections in strict order) will create a simpler and more effective way to communicate the hazards of a chemical. MSDS forms came in multiple formats varying by location, so moving to a universal format will make it easier for employees to find information on a chemical, and will also lower the burden for chemical manufacturers.
